Family Support Awareness Month

Family Support Awareness Month is an opportunity to share the work of family support programs in your community, advocate for increased investment in family support programs and build relationships with other family support programs in your community and across the state.

The FindHelp search tool connects families and individuals with existing programs and services in your community that are free or at a reduced cost. Find resources to assist with food, housing, financial assistance, health care, and more.

Click the link to the FindHelp search tool below, enter your zip code and click the search button. You’ll be redirected to a database where you can choose from service categories and browse local programs:

Additional Ways to Support our Families:

• Advocate for increased funding and resources for home visiting and parenting education programs to expand access. Download the Family Support Awareness Month Communications Toolkit for free resources.

• Engage in Prevent Child Abuse NC and NC Partnership for Children’s Family Engagement and Leadership Webinar Series throughout February to gain insights, tools, and resources for effectively supporting families in decision-making processes and promoting family voice and leadership.

• Connect with a Family Resource Center in your community to learn about the family support programs they offer and ask how you can support them. Learn more about the NC Family Resource Center Network.

• Dig Deeper: Take a couple of minutes to read this blog by The Duke Endowment’s Phil Redmond: Make Giving and Getting Help Easier for Families and Caregivers.
